On 26 May, the conference “Beyond Talk Therapy” took place in Edinburgh. This training event focused on innovative, evidence-based approaches to the treatment of psychological trauma and was aimed at students, therapists and mental health professionals.
Led by David Erritzoe, Dolores Mosquera and Derek Farrel, the conference provided an opportunity to explore topics such as:
EMDR
Complex trauma and dissociation
Personality disorders
Psychedelic-assisted therapy
It was a space for reflection, professional development and shared learning around a reality that is increasingly present in clinical practice: the need to broaden our perspective when traditional approaches fail to encompass the full complexity of psychological suffering.
