Training undertaken: Complex trauma and dissociation in Wellington, New Zealand

From 10 to 12 May 2026, Dolores Mosquera delivered the training course “Navigating Choice Points in EMDR Therapy”

5/12/2026

The seminar, led by Dolores Mosquera, explored the use of EMDR in the treatment of complex trauma and dissociation from a practical, trauma-informed perspective. Drawing on the Progressive Approach and the TADP model, developed in collaboration with Dr Anabel González, strategies were presented for safely applying EMDR interventions from the earliest stages of treatment, including clinical examples and video demonstrations.

The seminar also addressed hostile and critical inner voices, as well as tools for understanding and reducing internal blocks and conflicts that can hinder the therapeutic process.

Key Program Content:

  • Identify the internal system of dissociation and internal voices that are hostile and critical.

  • How to read the function and purpose behind the saboteur parts of self.

  • Using compassion and understanding to help deal with dissociative phobias within the internal system.

  • Skills to reduce impasses and resistance that may complicate or reduce the efficacy of the treatment.

  • Specific steps to organize the work with hostile parts and voices.
